The California Department of Technology (CDT) is dedicated to enhancing how you acquire, develop, and deliver information technology (IT) solutions. Our goal is to better support an efficient and effective public experience with government programs.

During our efforts, we created this Open Source Portal to encourage and simplify the sharing of new source code. Additionally, it ensures that the code is widely available for reuse across state government in a consistent manner.

We aim to facilitate a collaborative atmosphere making it easier to:

• Conduct software peer review.
• Perform security testing.
• Reuse existing solutions.
• Ultimately, share technical knowledge.

Increasing the reuse of custom-developed code across state government offers significant benefits for taxpayers, including reducing duplicative costs for similar code and minimizing vendor lock-in.
